It snowed for the first time today. It all kind of just melted into the grass, but it was beautiful. I can't wait to experience my first winter.

Grandma Barb:  Yes, we want our little Granddaughter to love the snow. I hope she can play in it, slide on it, and eat a few flakes on her tongue. We Minnesotans love winter, the prettiest season of the year.

    What a day!

My parents voted and took me along to the polls...
(What a great experience. We just got done having a party to celebrate our Next President BARACK OBAMA!!!)

    and...

I popped a tooth. Yes it is true. My mom better watch out when I am nursing.

Have a GREAT day. I send my hugs and drools from Madison.

Happy Halloween to everyone a little bit late. Boy did I have a great time dressing up. (sigh). My mom made me this cat costume and let me just say that I have not been feeling very well, so I pretty much puked on it every single time I wore it.

It has been really nice in Madison so my mom and I have been taking walks again. We missed them when it was rainy and cold.

Not too much to say today. I am tired and want to go to sleep. This daylights saving time deal has screwed up my sleep.

Hope you all like my new pictures!

    Cat kisses, Aquiliana

Hello all my adoring fans. I am eating bananas as you can see from my beautiful pictures. I have also been high flying on the swing at the park by our apartment. I absolutely love swinging. Did I mention I have a video that you can watch? (Check it out!)

Well, the last month has really been full of adventures. My mom and I went to Red Lake Falls to be with my Grandma during her surgery. I was so happy that I could be there because I know my cute face and amazing dance skills helped distract her at least a little bit from some of the pain. Family is just so important during life transitions and change.
While I was in Red Lake Falls I also got to see my little cousin, Thor. He is so cute. I can’t believe how big he is. And his cry was like a fog horn, (I say this in the nicest way possible. He was adorable). Cousin Marit and Cousin Haakon also played with me a lot. I loved watching them dance for me. It made me just want to jump up and down. I also was able to celebrate my Great-Grandpa Seeger’s 80th Birthday and Great-Grandma and Great Grandpa Seeger’s 58th wedding anniversary. What an eventful two weeks.

We are finally settled back into Madison. I have made so many new friends and I have play dates all the time. My mom and I are taking sign language classes on Fridays and I love it when she shows me the nursing sign. Ohhh that one is my favorite!

Here is a little update on what I have been doing
I can pick things up with a quick sweep of my hand.
I can swallow water and food (as long as it is mashed up)
I can stand for long periods of time, as long as my mom or dad holds my hands
I like to sit by myself all the time and play with my toys while I am sitting
I love looking at other babies and stealing their toys
I’m starting to babble using consonants followed by vowels. (No dada yet.)
I am starting to communicate a lot with my emotions (laughter, screeches, crying, sighing)
I love music (I dance and sway to the beat and I love playing the piano with mom.

Well peeps, that is me. I will be six months this Thursday and I will let you know my stats. I think I will be weighing in at around 18 lbs. We will see.

    Comments:
Grandma Seeger:  Aquiliana can make anyone smile and she was a constant joy to have near during my mastectomy surgery. Lisa was my organizer, chief operating officer, and manager during the week before and after surgery. This mother-child team can really pick up your spirits and bring confidence and hope. Thanks for the nice, loooong visit.

I think it is about time to give everyone a little update. So my mom turned 27 on Sept. 9th. My dad and I gave her a very special day filled with yoga, the farmers market, good food, a glass of Guinness, peanut butter and chocolate silk pie, and of course may hugs and kisses. We had such a great day. Ohhh and I should mention that while dad was at work, mom took me to The House on the Rock. If you have never heard of it, you should google it. Let me just say that it was quite an experience and I loved spending the day out with my mom.

We have begun our preparations for our trip to MN next week. Dad is going to be traveling to Nicaragua and Guatemala for work, so we decided that we should visit Grandma and Grandpa and Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Along the way we are also going to visit Auntie Laynie and Uncle Eric at their new home at St. John’s. Ohh and Uncle Drew and Uncle David are there too, so we might get some hugs from them too. We are going to have a fun filled trip. (P.S. Keep my Dad in your thoughts because this is the first work trip and he is going solo.)

As for me, I am changing every day. Here are some things that I am doing these days:

    1. Laughing at funny faces, sounds, and
movements. I have the cutest giggle! (Well that is what everyone tells me. *smile*)
    2. I am very ticklish on my neck, belly, and ribs.
    3. I can sit up all by myself. I fall over once in awhile but that is usually when my mom is behind me talking and I really want to see her. I hate when she does that.
    4. I grab my feet and play with my toes. I’m not really a kid that likes to suck on them, but I do like to see how they move.
    5. I babble a lot. Especially in the morning.
    6. I am much more aware of the world and everything that takes place around me.
    7. I grab for objects in front of me and like to taste them. My favorite pastime is to put everything in my mouth that I possibly can. Ooh and drool.
    8. I smile at other babies and kids.
    9. I love looking at myself in the mirror. I always smile when I see me.
    10. I’m starting to make different noises when I have different needs. My parents are starting to really catch on.
    11. I’ve been really sad and crying when my mom is at work and not home at night to put me to sleep around 8. I have a hard time going to sleep at night without a good, long feeding.

Well, that is a little about me these days. I hope to see or hear from some of you soon.

    Aquiliana

I have a new cousin! Cousin Thor was born yesterday at 3:39pm. I am just so excited. I wish I lived closer so that I could see him. Hopefully we will get to go to Texas for Thanksgiving. I have been looking at his pictures and thinking about him all day.

My mom and dad had their 3 year anniversary yesterday. Can you believe it has been three years since their wedding. They both looked into each other’s eyes, clinked some glasses and shared a moment while I was sleeping.

As for me, I had my second round of immunizations. I had a fever for a couple of hours and slept a lot, but I am feeling great today. My mom and I have been out walking every day since the weather has gotten cooler. We also spend a lot of time in the pool. It is so much fun to end our day splashing around.

Some new things that I am doing these days:

    1. Laughing out loud
    2. Sitting up by myself for short periods of
    time
    3. Drooling all over
    4. Rolling from my stomach to my back
    5. Turning towards voices and sounds
(sometimes even rolling over to see my mom
    when I hear her voice)
    6. I make squeals and like to try making new
    sounds
    7. I can hold a rattle or spoon for short
    periods of time
    8. I like it when my mom and dad hold me
    than strangers
    9. I get excited when people entertain me
    10. I love interacting with the world and I am
starting to notice small things such as
blowing leaves, flowers, kids jumping in
the pool, and I can finally focus on my
    fun toys.

We have had so many changes over the last couple of weeks. My mom has decided to quit working full time so that she can stay home with me. I am so excited. She still has some clients on the side, but she only sees them when dad is home to watch me. My dad got a job in Madison, which is pretty much why my mom stopped working. He is working at the World Council of Credit Unions. He seems really happy when he comes home which is a good sign. I was getting used to having him home all day with me so it has taken a little time to get used to him being at work and mom being at home. I think it is going be great for our family.

I have been growing and changing every day. I weight over 14lbs these days and I have the cutest smile ever. Here are some things that I am doing these days.

    1. Smiling at everyone (as long as I am not tired or hungry)

    2. Holding my weight by myself with the help of my parents for balance

    3. Sitting in my bumbo seat all by myself

    4. Making eye contact

    5. Cooing and working on my sounds

    6. I make jerky movements with my arms and legs

    7. I can hold my head up and look side to side with no problem

    8. I can finally laugh and get visually excited

    9. I can hold my toys, but I get frustrated when I don’t know how to let go

    10. I can sit in my bath by myself and splash around without falling over

    11. I can swim in the pool as long as dad or mom is holding me

    12. I still wake up about 2-3 times a night

I hope that helps you imagine a little more about me.

    Comments:
Auntie Laynie:  QuiQui! It sounds like you are growing up so fast. I hope I recognize you when you come to visit us next week. :)
